Mock Meat Curry

This mock meat curry using Good Dot Vegetarian Bytz makes for a delicious and nutritious addition to your next meal. This aromatic dish pairs well with rice or roti and it’s loaded with protein, contains zero cholesterol and will cut your fat intake by 80 percent!

What You’ll Need:

  • 250 g Good Dot Vegetarian Bytz
  • 3 Tablespoons Emkay Vegan Ghee
  • 3 Finely chopped onions
  • 2 finely chopped tomatoes
  • ¼ teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 2-3 chopped green chilies
  • 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
  • ¼ tablespoon red chili powder
  • ¼ tablespoon coriander powder
  • ¼ tablespoon turmeric powder
  • ¼ tablespoon garam masala
  • 3-4 cups water
  • Salt as per taste
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions:

  • Add 3 tablespoons Emkay vegan ghee in a pan and let it heat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add cumin seeds and once it splutters, add the chopped chilies and onions
  • Fry until onions are golden brown
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and stir well. Fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes or until it starts to brown and release juices
  • Add red chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder, turmeric powder and vegetarian meat pieces* and salt
  • Stir and fry for 5 minutes until vegetarian meat pieces are coated into the masala
  • Add 3-4 cups of water based on how thick you prefer your gravy
  • Bring water to boil and then cover and cook for 6-8 minutes on low flame, until vegetarian meat fully absorbs the flavors

**Tear vegetarian meat into small pieces using your hands or chop with a knife
