The snake plant has sword-shaped leaves that are deep green and elegantly edged in bright yellow, making for a striking addition to any space. Also known as the mother-in-law’s tongue, this plant is more than just a beautiful decoration; it also helps to clean the air and create a healthier environment.

Origin: Tropical Western Africa

🔆 Sunlight: Snake plant thrives in well-lit or almost dark corners of the house. Placing the plant in a well-lit space will boost its growth.

💦 Water: Water once every two weeks. Snake plant is a succulent, so it stores water in its leaves. During winters, water once a month or when the soil is dry to touch.

🪴 Fertiliser: Feed with a mild cactus fertiliser or a balanced liquid fertiliser during the growing season. Do not fertilise during the winter.

✂️ Pruning: Prune this plant using a sharp blade to cut the stalk at its base, near the soil. This same method applies to removing damaged or tall leaves.

🌱 Propagation: Propagate via stem cuttings in dry soil during the growing season. Start watering the cuttings after 3–4 days. It can take a month for the roots to grow.
